Forum Posting

A thought came to my mind last night and I'm happy to shareit with all of you. It is regarding posting/uploading the files tothis forum/group.

I would like to share few things regarding posting/uploading files.First make sure that you include all the related files. Peoplegenerally forgot to upload the parts file when they upload anassembly or a drawing. Secondly upload a zip file (if possible)rather than a native file. Third suppress your features/parts bysuppressing them or using the roll back option. The second andthird steps will reduce the file size giving many benefits ascompare to when you upload a native file. Moreover this forumdoesn't allow to upload native file, so one need to zip the filesbefore uploading. You can upload picture files easily withoutrequiring to zip them. Look here on"Howto attach file" if you don't know how to do that. Less filesize means less time required to upload/attach and download. Alsowe might be saving a lot of space on the server. Though space isnot a constraint right now but it is going to make no harm if wecan save some extra bytes on the server. You can also use the samemethod for posting or sending file in your emails or even on othergroups/forums.

I look forward to hear from you all on this and want to know if youfeel this is going to make any difference to you as compare to oldmethod of uploading/downloading files.SolidworksGeneral
