For those who don't check CPU prices everyday like myself, afast Intel Quad Core CPU and a faster Dual Core CPU can be had forunder \\\$300 a piece. I am referring to the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600(2.4GHz) and the Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 (3.0 GHz) My question is:Which would be better for running Solidworks?
I realize that Solidworks itself is not really multi threadedexcept for some parts like drawings, Photoworks, and COSMOS. So myguess is that the higher clock speed of the Dual core(3 Ghz vs 2.4Ghz) combined with the highe FSB speed (1333MHz vs 1066MHz) wouldbe better to have than 2 additional cores.
