Defective Dongle?

I'm trying to do a client install but things are not going asplanned. I didn't do the original network install so I'm not thatfamiliar with it. I'm reading that I should have an option toselect network license and put port@servername where the licenseresides. I never get this option.

I thought maybe the serial number I had was wrong and tried to findit on the server that the dongle resides on. Everything seems towork except

A. I can find a license number anywhere on this server

B. When I click "Modify" under License File, I get the followingerror:

lc_hostid() erro: Unknown FLEXlm error (0); (0,0,0)

If I click OK, I get the error

Could not read the dongle ID number.

Please remove then reinsert the dongle, making sure it is firmlyconnected on this computer then press Retry.

I've done this several times. Including removing and reinstallingthe dongle license using the haspdinst utility through commandprompt.
