SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional 2019 supports sending conditional transition notifications. This provides more granular way of notifying specific user , group of users based on certain criteria.

Conditional notifications provide ability to set checks similar to transition conditions today based on

• File path/type
• Variable values
• Category
• Revision
• Supports AND / OR type combinations

In addition, two new check are introduced which provides next level of control to evaluate transitioning user based on

• Login name OR
• their group membership

In addition to specific user and/or group, variable value can be defined as recipient. The expected variable value is single user full name OR login name OR group name.

Variable value as recipient can help notify just the required users that are marked on file data card for specific action.

Many a times users create multiple transitions with same name between same source and target state to achieve granularity in notifications and this feature will eliminate the need for creating and maintaining such complex workflows going ahead.
