I am looking for some help on how people approach things likelinkage design or cam design. I am currently working on a latchthat pivots around a point. What I would like to do is create asketch or curve and then copy that at the angle that I think willbe my rotational travel so I can see what it looks like. I need thecopy to be dependent so that I only have to make changes in oneplace and I need to be able to easily modify the angle. I want tobe able to see both the open and closed positions at the same time.If I have a solid feature, I can pattern it, but that has issues. So right now, I have two copies of my latch in my assembly, but I'mat the point where I need to try several ideas and that would be alot of copies of slightly different latches.
I have struggled with sketch patterns. Once I create one, I don'tknow how to change the number of instances. How do you approach adesign like this? If I were using a different program, I could makeseveral sketches (curves) and pattern the curves to see thedifferent positions.
Thanks,
