Hey,
When we save drawings or models in XP we can type in the file name, choose the file type to save as, and type in the description of thefile, which is linked to the description in the BOM/customproperties.
One of our computers has Vista on it, and there is no longer anoption for saving the description with the file name. If you wantto add a description then you have to add it into the customproperties. This is fine, but....
When I want to save a copy of a part, I go to save it, rename thefile, check save as copy and click save. Now the description hasdisappeared in BOTH the new file I have created, and the existingfile I copied from, so if I dont take note of what it was I losethe description completely (which will affect the guys on the floorif the description changes) and now have to go into the customproperties of BOTH parts and rename it in there.
Anyone know if you can change a setting somewhere to allow you tosave the description like I can in XP? Or am I just doomed withthis problem forever?
Thanks!SolidworksGeneral
