We are currently using Adept for our document controlpurposes. When an assembly is opened, if the user does not have thechildren signed out (or owned) Adept makes a virtual, read-onlycopy which allows the user to open the assembly with these parts.Since switching from 2007 to 2008 we seem to have lost thefunctionality to edit these read-only parts at the assembly level.
The user is aware that modifying these parts cannot be saved, butthey would still like to edit the parts for testing purposes.SolidWorks presents an error message stating that the file isread-only (as it should be) and that before any editing can be doneyou need write access to the file (even though we don't want tosave it).
Is there any option that can be tripped to allow the user to editread-only parts without write access to them. Again, they willnever save the parts they are working on.
