I built a quad core pc for work, and that has been runningnicely, so I decided to catch up with my home pc.
Work PC
--------------------------
ASUS P5W DH Deluxe motherboard
Intel Q6600 2.4GHz quad core
4GB Corsair XMS2-pro ram
Quadro FX 1300
Samsung 22" wide LCD
some SATA and Ultra SCSI 160 drives
---------------------------------------------
Home PC
------------------------------------------
ASUS P5KC motherboard (Intel P35, supports quad, dual, 45nm chips& DDR2 & DDR3)
Intel Q6600 2.4GHz quad core
Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT 512MB
2 GB Kingston HyperX (may add more later if I dual boot to Vista64)
Dell 20.1" 2007WFP LCD + 19" NOKIA CRT
SATA WD Caviar 320GB
DVD Burner 20x dual layer
----------------------------------------------
I'm upgrading from my Athlon XP 3000+..... woo that was gettingold!
The new system including powersupply was \$988 mostly from Newegg.
The monitors, keyboard, mouse, printer, speakers, scanner, and caseare all reused only the internal components have been replaced.
If I were doing another work PC I would probably do about the samesystem with a Quadro FX 1700 or 1400.
