Good morning, I've been trying to figure out the best way to do ductwork and ductwork sheeting in solidworks. And I have come across the issue with the sheeting. We would normally do a 1 in kink in the top sheeting to overlap. I've trying doing a boss extrude on the face but that gives me a zero geometry error. Edge bend does work either. Tried extending the revolve, but that messes up the loft bend. I am running out of ideas here, and I am hoping someone else has a solution to the problem. Or a better way to make the sheeting even. I've only had solidworks for maybe 4-5 months so still learning all the best ways to do things.
The part is as shown. The revolve-thin7 is the side that I need to extend 1" on the long straights. Well I will need to on the cone and collar as well but I haven't split them in half yet.
As part of the migration from the legacy Forum to the new SOLIDWORKS Forum, there was an overlap in timing where the new Forum was being loaded with historical data from an export migration, while at the same time, the legacy Forum was still operating during the period of March 12th to March 31st. Due to the overlapping timelines and import-export technical issues, posts during that time-frame could not have their media imported. If you created a post in the legacy Forum during that time-frame and wish to update the post in the new Forum with supporting media, please go to your post in the new Forum, enter into Edit mode and re-add any supporting media you want to insert.
The easiest way to find your posted content is: from the new Forum, click on your profile icon in the top right of the GUI, then select "My Profile" and you will be taken to the "Overview" tab where you can see all of your posting history.
Thank you
