Best guide for explaining drawing templates and sheet formats?

Hi all,

I've started to update the company's various sheet formats (contact info etc.), but realised that I don't know enough about the whole drawing template and sheet format topic to do this properly. The sheet formats have variations in the title block contents, no automated text entry, redundant items etc., and I'd prefer to have this standardised.

Can anyone recommend a good guide that goes from a high level (best-practice usage of drawing templates) through file setup (what to put on template vs. sheet format) down to the lowest level (aligning text boxes correctly within title blocks)? The SW help is too fragmented to get a proper understanding of how best to go about this. Thanks!
