Before this forum disappears: Reflections and a thanks to all of you!

Fellow SOLIDWORKS API enthusiasts.

For those of you who don't know me, I came on the scene as a budding SOLIDWORKS API trainer and consultant almost exactly 10 years ago when I started CADSharp. This now includes providing technical support through Slack, which is a solution for people who needed a step beyond what these forums and even the official API support team can provide, though I still recommended this forum regularly.

I posted quite a bit between 2011 - 2014. I believe I was #15 in the global rankings at my peak, despite having a relatively low volume of comments --- quality over quantity, if you will. I made it a point of spending at least an hour here every day, and sometimes a lot more. Many of the macros I wrote for users here were added to our Macro Library, actually. But as CADSharp's reputation grew, consulting picked up, and by 2015 I was barely participating at all. I miss it, but if that chapter never ended then it meant that CADSharp had never taken off like I wanted.

I think the sentiments regarding the deprecation of this forum have been stated enough times already, so I won't add anything there. I just wanted to let everyone know that I have many fond memories of this forum and appreciate the enthusiasm of so many people here. In fact, participation in this forum was one of my unspoken prerequisites for hiring contractors for many years. To me, if you were actively giving of your time to the API community here, you obviously were passionate about SOLIDWORKS API. Rajat Jain Jacob Corder Artem Taturevych Ivana Kolin Nilesh Patel Deepak Gupta Amen Allah Jlili Josh Brady Christian Chu, and many others. I learned from so many of the people here, and I hope many can say the same about me.

I'm sure many others have stepped up to provide excellent help in recent years, and I hope I can get to know you better. I'm always on the look out for talented API developers who love automation. If you're like me, the hours fly by when you get completely lost in some problem, and you chase after the thrill of solving it. Feel free to reach out to me on LinkedIn if you have not done so already. Anyway, thank you all and don't lose that passion for automation!

As part of the migration from the legacy Forum to the new SOLIDWORKS Forum, there was an overlap in timing where the new Forum was being loaded with historical data from an export migration, while at the same time, the legacy Forum was still operating during the period of March 12th to March 31st. Due to the overlapping timelines and import-export technical issues, posts during that time-frame could not have their media imported. If you created a post in the legacy Forum during that time-frame and wish to update the post in the new Forum with supporting media, please go to your post in the new Forum, enter into Edit mode and re-add any supporting media you want to insert.

The easiest way to find your posted content is: from the new Forum, click on your profile icon in the top right of the GUI, then select "My Profile" and you will be taken to the "Overview" tab where you can see all of your posting history.

Thank you
