Assembly to compact multibody part

Im making wall elements for office buildings. One wallelement is 1139 parts (68 unique), and to create a wall sectionusing these elements im forced to simplify them.
Ive tried to save it to multibody part, but the end result is56megs and that is way too large. I'd like to have volumeinformation for the end result since I will be doing cross sectioncuts of the wall assembly, but if I can't get the Wall elementcompact enough sizewise, just surface model will do.

I've also tried to save the assembly into iges, step, and parasolidparts, hoping that some of these will result to a smaller filesize, but no success.

I guess I could just model a mock part of the element and use that, but these elements have a gasgets and aluminum profiles which areneeded to be represented in the wall section assy making it quite alarge task. These 6 office buildings have a large variety of wallelements, I'd rather use the work already done for this.
The purpose of these wall sections is to identify which elementgoes where, to show how we fill the areas between floors andelements, and how we construct "frosting" for aestethics on siteetc.

I'm (we) are new to SolidWorks (7 months of use) so I might havemissed some simple obvious solution to this, so don't be afraid tosuggest them.

I'm running pentium 64 3000 with 2gig ram, 32bit winXP and I haveperformance issues with these models, expecially with drawings(changing a sheet takes 15 minutes).

We really need a way to represent the whole building in differentlevels of detail, right now we are only doing the individualelements in SW, and all large scale assembly drawings in 2D becauseof performance issues.
