I am trying to model a bolted connection between acentrifugal fan shaft and impeller.
To reduce the calculation times, I want to eliminate thecomplicated impeller geometry and replace it with an external massapplied to the outer diameter face of my simplified fancentreplate.
The center of mass of the remote mass happens to be exactly at theorigin. This is correct. What appears to be happening is that thecentrifugal loading of the remote mass is applied in the wrongdirection, pulling the outer face of the centreplate towards theorigin, rather than away from it.
