Converting an imported surface model to native geometry.
aka, an intimate discussion with Solidworks.
An actual discussion from this afternoon:
Me: Oh, the spline is all red.
SW: Over defined, item is unsolvable!
Me: But honey, you're not self-intersecting anywhere, what's wrong?
SW: I'm over defined and unsolvable!
Me: I see that, but there's no reason for it, your only a 2Dspline.
SW: *very very red*
Me: Sorry, sorry. I didn't mean that. You have plenty of 3D splinestoo. It's just that this one doesn't seem to be working.
SW: *still very red*
Me: Listen, what's wrong?
SW: Over defined, item is unsolvable!
Me: Yes, we already went over that, what's really going on?
SW: Over defined, item is unsolvable!
Me: What! Of course I don't just "understand." Why do you justexpect me to understand. I'm not a mind-reader. Fine. I give up.We'll do it your way. But now neither of us are going to be happy.
