Somehow in our department we end up doing all productiondrawings in ACAD. Although we have designed all the products inSolidworks, the folks who make drawings prefer ACAD. All the whilerecreating parts in 2D and dimensioning them.
Obviously it is a needless excercise to draw in 2D while we alreadyhave all the information in 3D which could be converted into 2Ddrawings. I am embarking on educating the team to utilize the powerof solidworks drawings. The power of inserting part/ assemblies inthe drawings is just too good. Any/ all changes done to the partwill refelect in the drawing and only dimensions need to be clickedinto place.
So...Am I on firm grounds when I say that there is no real need todraw in ACAD for all 2D drawings? Are ther any new thinking/ Ideason this?
