'08 sp2 Material Color

Ok, trying out SP2..
I see that there is now the "Select Custom Color" box in theMaterial Edit..
I'm really glad to see that..
But i can't seem to get to a color pallete from there.. You know, where i can specify R,G,B...
Please tell me i'm not limited to only 32 color. There are only 32colors in the pallete.. and NONE of them are what i need..
Case in point..
I need a simple Orange color... Well, the 32 color palette that'sthere does have the color.. But when applied to the part, it's noteven close... It's yellow!!
So, i suspect that the shading it dictated by the lighting &environment..
Which i will NOT change because it took forever to tweak that to beusable..
So anyway... I go back to the Color selector in Material Edit, default appearance tab.. To try and get a FULL color pallete.. Youknow, so i can select a darker shade of orange. so that way in themodel it will look halfway decent..
But it seems to be limited to only the 32 colors..
Which brings me to this.. I select the darkest orange choiceavailable.. Hmmm the appearance of part looks exactly the same aswhen selecting the lightest orange!..
So i thought maybe it didn't update.. I select blue to try.. Itchanges to blue..
So i select the Lightest orange shade.. Part changes to a brightyellow.. I select the mid orange.. No Change.. Select DarkOrange... No Change.
What's up with this??
How do i get to a full color pallete?
One reason i'm critical of color is that lot of parts apeearancemust be pantone correct per customer req's... Key word there... thePARTS appearance... Not the pallete's appearance... I need to tweakthe colors to compensate for lighting & environmentals...

Here's an Update...
When i select a custom color for a a material, the appearance alsoloses all reflectivity, shading, etc.. basically it looks just likeas if RV is turned off.. even though RV is on... Any time i use thenew color change thing in SP2.. the parts turn completely flat anddull.. In '07 when changing the color, the parts still looked thesame finish, shininess, etc. Only difference was the color...They'd be SHINY blue, SHINY orange, etc..
So this is scaring the heck out of me.. What gives?SolidworksGeneral
