What’s New in SOLIDWORKS 2025

Accelerate time to market with enhanced collaboration and data management; streamlined workflows for parts, assemblies, drawings, MBD (Model-based Definition), electrical and pipe routing, ECAD-MCAD collaboration, and rendering; and improved import/export, user experience, and performance features. Simplify your drafting workflows with enhanced communication through the DraftSight updates, increase data efficiency with the SOLIDWORKS PDM updates, ensure performance and accuracy with the SOLIDWORKS Simulation updates, streamline electrical design with the updates to SOLIDWORKS Electric Schematic and Electrical Schematic Designer, and continue to design anywhere with the latest in browser-based product development on the 3DEXPERIENCE® platform.

Release Highlights

What's New in SOLIDWORKS Design and Collaboration:

  • Collaboration and Data Management: Deliver innovative products faster with improved collaboration and data management capabilities such as easily connecting and collaborating with industry peers directly within SOLIDWORKS. Ensure data integrity with real-time notifications about changes to the design by team members.
  • Parts: Smoothly integrate radius parameters with the new Continuous edge blend option for variable radius fillets. Improve the manufacturability of your designs with the Sheet Metal Bend Notch. Streamline skeleton model creation and create more flexible designs by patterning Reference Geometry (planes, axes, etc.)
  • Assemblies: Accelerate design by copying assembly components along with their advanced and mechanical mates. Check the manufacturability of your design faster with interference detection in Large Design Review mode.
  • Drawings: Speed up drawing creation and ensure accuracy by providing detailed cut lists in the bill of materials. Ensure standardization with the ability to create surface finish symbols in compliance with ISO standards.
  • More Design and Modeling Updates: Get to production faster with 3D dimensioning and tolerancing improvements, accelerate the creation of manufacturing documentation for electrical and pipe routing, leverage the latest advancements in GPU technology with real-time interactive ray tracing, streamline workflows with enhanced import/export, user experience, performance, and more.

Increase Data Efficiency in SOLIDWORKS PDM: Understand the assembly structure better with a bill of materials that follows the SOLIDWORKS assembly order. Check out the latest revision or a specific revision of files when you use the Get operation. Quickly access SOLIDWORKS PDM functions from the new PDM tab in the Command Manager toolbar.

Ensure Performance and Accuracy in SOLIDWORKS Simulation: Simplify assembly analysis without compromising accuracy with the new orthotropic spring connectors and enhanced pin connectors. Solve complex assembly problems by identifying free body components with the enhanced Under Constraint feature.
