What's New For The Community In 2022?

As mentioned in my Happy Holidays post from late December of last year, we have a few changes based upon user feedback:

Changes Happening:
Why:
Given the primary types of interactions happening in this community - User Questions and Answers - the Ideas feature within this community is disabled
  • This will make the Q&A process smoother by allowing the community content entry type's default = Question
  • Many users were unknowingly entering Questions as Ideas and thus causing community timeline disruption and UX confusion
  • Existing Ideas in this community will remain visible and engagement with that content will continue.
Community membership democratization
  • Given that the User Forum is 3DSwym "Public" community, there is no need to be a declared member - unless you desire to create and add a Wiki page to the community.
    • If you were a declared community member, you will have received notification stating, "You are no longer a member..." of this community; that only means you are no longer a declared member of the community.
    • If you would like to have Wiki creation capability, please contact @MH or one of the other community owners with your request and details.
New community for entering 3DSwym enhancement request Ideas
  • If you would like to submit a 3DSwym Enhancement Request (ER), please access and join this new, Private community - SOLIDWORKS Forum Enhancement Ideas - and you will be added as a declared community Contributor so that you can enter in your Idea(s).
  • If you have a SOLIDWORKS software-related enhancement, please continue to enter those requests in the SOLIDWORKS Customer Portal.

Given that 2021 was a monumental year of forum/community transition, another 🙏THANK YOU🙏 and round of 👏applause👏 to everyone who contributed in 2021 and we look forward to a great year in 2022.

Be well, healthy and hope to see you at 3DEXPERIENCE World 2022 - either live or virtually.

@MH
