Dear CATIA users,
the constant evolution and improvement of Virtual Twin makes it possible to take up the challenge of modeling & developing a number of Virtual Materials.
With the multiscale modelling of composites materials (porous media, random UD, woven, …), an extensive amount of challenges for research activities are raised on the strength prediction, damage propagation and fatigue behaviour.
Thanks to advanced solvers and complex material behaviour capabilities such as 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, virtual twin of materials are more and more complex and allow to get better understanding of the material behaviour mechanisms.
To explore those challenges with the scientific community, the Association pour les Materiaux Composites (AMAC) regularly organizes scientific events (Journée Scientifique et Technique ou JST) which take place in different cities in France.
The next event is dedicated to multiscale modelling of material and composites structures. This day mainly aims to review the state of the art in terms of multi-scale modeling methods for the analysis and simulation of the behavior of composite materials. The themes identified concern:
- algorithms for generating semi-realistic VERs
- non-linear homogenization techniques (numerical, analytical, semi-analytical)
- Virtual methods for identifying the physical properties of constituents
- the integration of experimental measurements into VER models
- global-local modeling methods
Dassault Systèmes welcomes the event on the 5th of February on the Campus in Vélizy-Villacoublay.
