Energy Observer is demonstrating the future of sustainable energy through a pioneering vessel powered by a combination of solar, wind, batteries and onboard hydrogen production. To manage the complexity of this integrated energy ecosystem, the project uses the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to connect design, simulation and collaboration in a single environment. CATIA supports the creation and management of the vessel’s digital representation, while SIMULIA enables engineers to virtually test and optimize the interactions between renewable energy generation, hydrogen production, storage, and propulsion systems before implementing physical changes. By leveraging virtual twin technology, Energy Observer is accelerating innovation and validating new pathways toward a low-carbon energy future.
