My presentation

At SIMULIA we started to develop simulation technology to describe additive manufacturing processes several years ago. With every release we are happy to introduce new features and functionality and improve existing tools.

This presentation covers recent updates to the additive manufacturing simulation technology in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, and the Abaqus solver.

In joining my session you will learn about the new Distortion Checker application, which allows for a fast first impression analysis of a part. Then I will introduce new output variables especially for AM related data and I will discuss the different simulation methods which we implemented in the Abaqus solver. Using an flow optimized duct as an example I will demonstrate how these methods are applied.
I will show how new and more processes can be simulated with the combination of the Material Deposition app and the simulation app, before finally discussing the very exiting options we offer to model material properties on a microstructure level.
