Pass-By Noise {Tread Meshing+Abaqus+wave6}
With the emergence of EV, a primary source of radiated noise is the tire. Tire-induced noise can be of two (2) types; i) pass-by and ii) Interior. For interior noise, the path is through the vehicle (i.e. structural borne) and the sensors are the humans in the cabin. For pass-by noise, the path is through the air and the sensors are the humans outside of the vehicle.
@Dassault_Systemes, we have a E2E (end-to-end) process that affords Tire Companies the opportunity to leverage realistic virtual testing to assess the impact of tire construction, material selection and pattern geometry on radiated pass-by noise, via a combination of best-in-class Modeling-Simulation-Post_Processing.
This technology allows you to minimize late-state design changes and whilst meeting and exceeding industry regulations such as WLTP for radiated noise levels.
