About the presenter
Gilmar PEREIRA holds a Master in Mechanical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto, and a PhD in applied mechanics from the Technical University of Denmark. Gilmar has more than 10 years of experience across different industries, including Aerospace, Wind Energy, and Medical Devices, always working within simulation and modeling, virtual development, digitalization, and virtual twin thematics.
Currently, Gilmar is managing the Modelling and Simulation Department at Novo Nordisk. The Modelling and Simulation Department is the knowledge hub for the mechanical engineering domain, where multiple innovation projects and expertise are developed. A flagship innovation project that is under development by this department is the Virtual Development, which aims to virtualize the medical design process, democratize knowledge and skills across the different design engineers, and enable computer-aided optimization.
