Well, we did it! SIMULIA & CATIA managed to host the first ever Virtual Global 3DEXPERIENCE Modeling & Simulation Conference. We may not be able to meet in person this year, but that hasn’t stopped us from collecting some of the best user presentations and technical content from the Dassault Systemes experts and bring our global users together. Our aim was simple: show our users what can be achieved with MODSIM (Modeling & Simulation) when we break down the silos between design, modeling and simulation and see the value that looking at the design process as a whole can bring.
As such we‘d like to extend a huge THANKS you to all our attendees and also all our colleagues and partners for the hard work they put into creating such a rich and diverse agenda.
Here are some of the Highlights:
On November 17 & 18, thousands of CATIA and SIMULIA users from 78 countries different countries joined the event. They came from 1,127 different commercial companies, with the balance of commercial/academia being 85%/15%. The event was targeted at the specialist user level audience and nearly 90% of the attendees identified themselves user & manager/leader level engineers.
So what was the audience able to enjoy at the Conference?
In order to manage a global event that crossed so many time zones, we kept the live content to 2 x 2 hour live sessions each day, with the live daily content repeated twice, firstly for the AP/EMEA timezone and the second in for the NAM/LATAM/EMEA time zone.
The 1 hour Plenary Sessions included 2 keynotes from Boeing and Purdue University, overviews from our Executives @EB , @OS, @DH and @RP and presentations from SIMULIA & CATIA technical staff that focused on the use of the 3DEXPERIENCE on hot topics such as MBSE and helping in the fight against the pandemic.
Next were the 1 hour Live Talks. On day 1, attendees has the choice of 11 different parallel sessions: 2 focused on CATIA strategy and 9 were SIMULIA Regional User Meetings, most of which were held in local language and included presentations from both the local team and local customers such as Unilever, Renault and Parker Hannifin. All 11 sessions included a live Q&A session at the end where attendees were able to type their questions and the presenters answered live on camera. The day 2 Live Talks were presented by R&D representatives. The 6 parallel sessions covered 8 different Technology Updates and against included a live Q&A chat at the end of each session.
Once attendees had enjoyed these sessions, they still had a plethora of content to choose from. In the Breakout Tracks, we had over 110 presentations (over 70+ coming from our users) in 10 different tracks covering all industries we serve, such as Transport & Mobility, Aerospace & Defence, Iindustrial Equipment and High Tech; disciplines such as structures, fluids and electromagnetics, and design focused session such as lightweighting and cyber physical systems. In the Partner Exhibition, there were 15 partners booths to visit and in the 3DEXPERIENCE Playground, there were 11 booths covering everything from the pandemic to 5G.
The conference platform will remain live until Friday December 4, with all the content available to view on demand. After that, the conversation and the content will be accessible from the new public MODSIM Community at go.3ds.com/MODSIM
