The industry today is facing an ever more competitive landscape, which drives the OEMs to develop products that cost less but with higher quality in less development time. Society and customers demand for better, safer and smarter products has increased the complexity and raise the bar on product performance. These trends spur the need for new tools and processes of early phase product development.

Simulation is the enabler for the validation of KPIs of a product in early phase. However, it is challenging to prepare a simulation and at the same time fulfill the main needs in the concept phase of the product development process – flexibility, agility and speed.

DASSAULT SYSTEMES’ CATIA | SFE technology addresses all of these needs by providing a combination of an agile modeler with an associative simulation model.

This presentation provides insights of the CATIA | SFE technology - the agile modeler providing flexibility, modularity and quickness alongside with the associative simulation model - representing the aspects of MODELING & SIMULATION.

How these aspects are leveraged connected to the 3DEXPERIENCE and integrated in an automatic loop to enable design of experiments or optimization will be discussed. In addition, several industry examples are showcasing how CATIA | SFE is speeding up and enriching the conceptual design process.
