On the 60sqm booth, the presence of @APIVIA's foil, which crossed the line first at the Vendée Globe 2021 maritime race, was a good example to illustrate the performance of a product in composites. The global foil design and assembly has been operated by MerConcept while Avel Robotics was in charge of its final structure design and manufacturing.
Dassault Systèmes solutions were represented by 18 IPC/Sales experts from t4 brands:
- CATIA : CAD expert software
- SIMULIA : Expert simulation software (fluids, electromagnetism, structures, etc.)
- BIOVIA : Expert biology and chemistry software (simulate how molecules behave with each other...)
- DELMIA : Software for modelling and designing the means of production of a manufacturing company.
You can discover on the MODSIM community (here) the 3 domains into which these experts gave further insights (4 fully collaborative Dassault Systèmes solutions were themselves represented) through 3 demo PODS:
- MODSIM (Modelisation & Simulation): The digital composite design contains the parameters of composite trade-off, which can be evaluated earlier and iterated throughout the design development process, using advanced simulation
- Manufacturing: manufacturing constraints are taken into account early in the design process for producibility checks, making it possible to define and export a complete process to the shopfloor, optimized and validated through simulation process.
- Materials Science: advanced molecular simulation and calibration capabilities allow materials modelers to explore multiple new combinations of resin precursors and processing parameters, drastically reducing the dependence on physical testing at all scales.
During the 3 days of the show, our Dassault Systèmes experts on the stand demonstrated how to be at the forefront of innovation in composites thanks to the unified environment of the 3DEXPERIENCE® platform (its 4 collaborative softwares) and were able to convince and seduce the many visitors.
As Dassault Systèmes is very close to its partners, some of them were of course invited and @FM, Chief Software Officer (CSO) of Coriolis Composites, our technological partner, participated in the conference with Dassault Systèmes experts.
