In a touching gesture of generosity and innovation, the FabLab has demonstrated how technology can serve the most human of endeavors.
Bertrand, engineer at the FabLab, recently crafted a 3D wood-engraved portrait of the late son of the president of Point d’Eau, an association dedicated to housing and caring for heavily disabled adults. The idea for this tribute arose after the son’s passing. Since he was the inspiration behind the creation of this association, which today supports 50 families, I turned to Bertrand to craft a meaningful tribute. The artistry of the wood-carved portrait elevates its symbolic value, making it a perfect centerpiece for the entrance of the association’s building.
The FabLab’s generosity in creating this tribute highlights their commitment to using technology not just for advancement, but for connection, empathy, and service to the community. As we strive for a future of innovation and improvement, let us remember that the true measure of progress lies in how we use our tools to help and honor the people who matter most.
