Sustainable Bluetooth speaker - for a non sustainable car

Hello 3DEXPERIENCE Makers community,

My last project... based on a personal need for my Dogde B250 Conversion van. As the fuel consumption is a little bit huge for a Franch guy thanks to the V8 and his 235hp... I don't have enough money to invest on a brand new media system...

The goal of this project to to get a fully autonomous and modern music system in order to play music when the engine is off.

As it is an American car, there are a lot of cups holders everywhere... 🙄, why not reuse it to store the bluetooth speaker?

I don't want to invest a lot of money... again

I have a broken an electric scooter, with some Li-ion batteries not anymore used, this will provides and stores the energy for free...

Where to find good speakers for free? Simple to answer... on a car breakers! at least 2 per vehicles, Renault is using speaker from Bose, Mercedes from Hamann Cardon or Becker, Toyota from Clarion, etc... really good devices for free...

Let's start!

I only purchase:

  • 1 BMS for a 3S Li-Ion batteries 1.43€
  • 1 switch with a Led indicator 0.80€
  • 350g of PLA
  • A 30w bluetooth card 3.89€
  • 1 sheet of sanding paper
  • 1 spraypaint 3.50€, the color is depending to your van...
  • 1 USB-C port for charging the battery 0.70€
  • 1 year of the 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS offer for Maker (get 30% off on Youtube...)

The wires came from the electric scooter.

The base has the same size as a can, the autonomy is superior to 3H! and the quality of the sound is just incredible

The battery is located in the base and the Center of gravity of the speaker is corresponding to the axle of the project for getting the best stability

All the design and study have been done by my 15yo son, dad is just paying
