I always wanted a compact and versatile mobile stand that I could easily carry around, but most stands on the market are either too bulky or don’t provide a stable hold. Some stands work well on a desk but aren’t portable.
So, to solve this I've designed a Compact Foldable Mobile Stand that:
- Collapses into a compact form for easy portability.
- Has adjustable support arms for different phone sizes and orientations.
- Provides a stable base.
3D printing for this model was straightforward. The key detail was ensuring the hinges and moving parts printed correctly, so I adjusted the layer height for smoother movement. The entire print took about 3 hours, and I used tree supports to minimize post-processing.
After a couple of iterations, I refined the design. The first version had hinges that were too loose, and the second didn’t account for the phone's weight distribution properly. By the third iteration, I got it right - the stand now folds smoothly, holds the phone securely, and remains lightweight.
The final result is exactly what I wanted. It’s sturdy, compact, and blends well with any setup. The only thing I modified post-print was adding small rubber grips for extra stability. Now, I have a reliable, travel-friendly mobile stand that works perfectly in any scenario.
