I’ve always sanded surfaces using just my hands and sandpaper, but it always led to uneven pressure, hand fatigue, and difficulty holding the sandpaper properly. After sanding for long time, my hands would ache, and the results weren’t as smooth as I wanted.
So, to solve this I designed an ergonomic and compact sanding block that:
✅ Provides a comfortable grip, reducing hand fatigue.
✅ Applies even pressure, ensuring a smooth finish.
✅ It has an easy change mechanism for sandpaper replacement.
The 3D print for this model was simple but required precision. I made sure the grip was ergonomic and the sandpaper locking mechanism was firm. I used 30% infill for durability and printed it with tree supports to keep the structure clean. The total print time was around 3 hours.
This version got everything right - it fits perfectly in my hand, keeps the sandpaper in place, and applies pressure evenly.
The final result is exactly what I needed!
No more sore hands or inconsistent sanding.
Overall, I’m satisfied with how this turned out! Sanding is now faster, easier, and more precise.
