A Visit to the Hatchery @ Boston College

A few weeks ago, we were invited to visit The Hatchery at Boston College. We learned about their mission to empower anyone to be a maker. We also had a wonderful tour of the facilities. It was inspiring to see so much creativity in such a beautiful space. If you get a chance to tour a local maker space or if you are lucky enough to be part of a maker space, please share with us here in the Made in 3D community! We love to learn about how other spaces connect with their community of makers! Happy Making!!!

Cool color printer that prints even on metal and wood
Screen printing multi-layers
Impressive workspace with dedicated ventilation
Great to name each machine for usage and maintenance
An amazing array of sewing stations
Clean and tidy wood shop with good signage
Getting a tour of the screen printing room
Testing out the interactive projects

They have some great Maker Highlights like this story about Maeve, who uses the facilities at The Hatchery to create these plush elephants to fundraise for an elephant sanctuary in Thailand that she worked at during her study abroad.
