New MakeByMe Update - v3.2

New Update

Over the weekend we updated the production version of MakeByMe to 3.2

WELL DONE again to the @MakeByMe Team for providing another great update 👊

What's New

Overview

  • Realistic Pocket hole joints
  • Design in the context of your HomeByMe project

Pocket Holes

We've had pocket holes as a joint method for some time, but it was more of a documentation placeholder for plans rather than a realistic tool to help visualise the size, location and number of pocket holes needed to joint different material together. In this release we've added realistic pocket holes. Select the material, then the joint you want to apply pocket holes to. Makebyme then takes over, assesses the wood thickness, size and orientation and will apply realistic drilled pocket holes to the joint helping take any guesswork off the table and making it super simple to plan your build.

HomeByMe floorplan loader

Possibly the biggest thing impacting HomeByMe users being able to create furniture for their homes, was the lack of in context creation within MakeByMe. It was difficult to size things easily, ensure the design form worked for the space and often it involved multiple iterations to get things right. Now in 3.2 you can load any of your  HomeByMe projects, whether the full floorplan or just a single room. We drop showing furniture to help with performance and design clarity and we added capabilites to ensure you can align and snap to walls and as you rotate we hide foreground walls to ensure you can design with no visual impairment from the floorplan.
