What's New for Urban Environment

Hey GEOVIA,

The 3DEXPERIENCE Platform is running on the R2025x GA level of code for a few days now. This release brings a host of new features and improvements designed to enhance your experience!

It is also the opportunity to recap some features which were released previously.

First of all, all roles are now coming with Role Cockpits that you will retrieve in the dedicated section of the Dashboards and Cockpits List. They provide an optimized layout to work efficiently in addition of useful information.

City Referential

This release is oriented towards IFC standard support!

  • All you have to do is to click on the Constructions button in the menu and load your geolocated IFC models from the Platform or your local drive.
  • You will notice for those Constructions datasets that it is possible to expose attributes coming from the common document of the Collaborative Space.
  • Not only Constructions but also Buildings datasets will benefit from the new C++ Converter & Merger tools for improved performances.

  • Another info about Constructions datasets is that a Related Content is automatically created on the models ingested in City Referential.
  • Last point is that the update process has been improved to reduce the time of unavailability of a dataset while updating.

City Prepare

  • You can now leverage the Overlap Analysis processor to identify overlapping geometries coming from different inputs, such as overlapping land use zones or conflicting protected areas. It will store the ratio of overlapping in an attribute as a result.

City Discover

  • City Discover offers a Catalog of trees and urban furniture to enrich your projects. Multiple models, different styles, you should find the missing piece for your experience.

  • The Altitude & Surface tools have been aligned with the Distance one to provide accurate information and visual helpers.

  • There is a new option in the Properties panel for Generic Buildings to outline the stories. The following image speaks for itself.

  • In the actionbar, you will find, under the Tools tab, a new button to remove the acitve selection and clean the transient style applied by a Data Perspective

  • Finally, you will be able to visualize your IFC files in context of your experience thanks to the new Constructions datasets. Notice that all items within these datasets are visible by default in the treeview to quickly identify the relevant asset or discipline you're looking for. In addition, you will retrieve automatically the Related Content associated to the models and attributes coming from the common document if applicable.

City DSE

  • Enhance your City Experience with dynamic, data-driven colors set by the Data Perspective!

  • In addition, it is now possible to cross-highlight features to ease identification between apps.

We can't wait to hear what you think of these new features!
