Dr. Farhad Faramarzi is a Mining & Mineral Processing Engineer with expertise in drilling and blasting which includes design, risk assessment, field measurement, mine-to-mill optimisation and model development. With about 10 year experience in Research, Consulting and Industry, Farhad has worked as Drill & Blast Superintendent - designed, led and surveyed over 100 full-scale production blasts at some large iron and copper open-pit mines with consistent success in delivering results. Farhad’s main area of expertise was built during his PhD in the mineral processing field at the Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre (JKMRC) - The University of Queensland (UQ). At JK Centre, Farhad broadened his skill set and specialised in ore comminution characterisation, design of experiments, process debottlenecking, performance improvement, process modelling and simulation. Currently, Farhad works with Dassault Systèmes GEOVIA's Global Team, developing innovative solutions & providing Technical Services to Mining Industry worldwide.

Ralph Smith, Global Services Director of GEOVIA at Dassault Systèmes, has contributed to the mining industry in operations, consulting, and technology for the past 25 years. Applying Dassault Systèmes solutions, he is driving the planning process beyond mining extraction to the next steps in the value chain, incorporating the beneficiation process in the virtual twin, addressing cost, recovery and GHG challenges. Ralph is passionate about mining and the drive for the transformation required for the industry to address current and future requirements. He believes in partnering with the industry to deliver the value from transformation through Outcome-Base engagements. He commenced his career with Aberfoyle on the West Coast of Tasmania before working with a leading mining solution group (Surpac Software International) before entering the consulting services with AMDAD.
