📢 Event Update - GMG Tucson Forum 2023

Tomorrow's Mining: Innovating to Improve the Way We Mine

How do we create a sustainable future for mining? We need a vision of where we’re going, skilled people and honed processes in place, and the technology to enable us to achieve set goals. The evolution to a new state of mining has begun.

Emerging technology is hitting the market at unprecedented rates. The ideas spawned in Sci-Fi books are becoming reality. Robots and autonomous systems, AI, gamification, digital twins, simulation, batteries, sensors and more – every aspect of the mine operation will potentially evolve as industry adopts new tools and systems. We need to be prepared. What will be the impact of these new technologies? What problems are they solving? How do we ensure we are ready? How do we maximize their value? We’ll discuss the challenges and opportunities emerging technologies present, and share good practices to take back to your mine operation.

Join Garrett Kramer, GEOVIA Technical Executive, as he takes the stage at GMG's Tucson Forum, for the Next Generation Mining: Enabling Industry Transformation panel.

About GMG Tucson Forum:

The GMG Tucson is a unique opportunity for mining companies to come together and leverage what’s happening in mining and beyond, a place where GMG members will be demonstrating what’s possible and in use in world-class mines. We’re pulling you away from daily operations to dig in on common challenges, develop new strategies and plans, brainstorm ideas on how you can achieve your goals, learn who’s doing what, what’s working (and not!), and how they got there, and leveraging the collective knowledge in the room to help you progress and succeed.

This forum centers around strategic working sessions on key topics that matter most to you such as:

  • moving towards autonomous operations and away from diesel-powered fleets and equipment
  • understanding and harnessing the true power of your data
  • setting up and fostering a skilled workforce and leveraging each person’s strengths to optimize performance and job satisfaction
  • knowing the innovative technologies that exist and how they enable you to improve safety and productivity at your operations

But, how do you do it all? How do you leverage all the learnings and expertise that exist around the globe? Forget thinking outside the box – we need to blow the box up!

Participants regularly report that the level of frank, honest, and interesting discussion is very helpful, and they make multiple new contacts and relationships that feed into the future with follow-up meetings.
