Taking the 2023 3DS China Infrastructure & Cities Summit as a great opportunity, GEOVIA CEO Mr. @MD and GEOVIA Industry Process Consultant Senior Specialist Dr. @ML were invited to China in order to strengthen the local GEOVIA ecosystem building.

2023 3DS China Infrastructure & Cities Summit

This Summit, organized annually by 3DS China Infrastructure Industry Team, was successfully held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province on July 13th with a theme of “Metamorphosis of Universe – Build a Sustainable Future Together”. Besides, the summit consists of four sessions – Plenary Session, AEC Breakout Session, IE&M Breakout Session and Mining Breakout Session this year. Hundreds of leaders, experts, researchers and scholars from enterprises, institutes and related universities joined the conference to learn what’s new experience, application scenarios and best practices.

Especially in the Mining Session, Mauro and Dr. Liang were invited to deliver a keynotes speech respectively. Representing the entire GEOVIA brand team, Mauro gave an opening speech and shared 3DS insights and perspectives with a topic of “Sustainable Mining: Mining for the Future”. GEOVIA has the promise to model the sustainable planet. To fulfill this commitment, GEOVIA brand relies on the capability of 3D modeling, simulation, social & collaboration and information intelligence to deliver three key value proposals:

• Sustainable Resources: Discover, define, reveal and re-use natural resources.
• Sustainable Environment: Conserve and improve the environment we live in.
• Sustainable Lifestyles: Reveal urban ecosystems for inclusive governance.

Meanwhile, Mauro mentioned that GEOVIA has designed a feasible path to a sustainability referential from industry standards, system engineering, process referential, client KPIs & use cases to sustainability solutions. In the mining industry, 3DS is focusing on four areas: Decarbonize Mining Operations, Climate Change Adaptation with Innovation, Process Plant Conditioning and Strategic Mineral Supply Chain Management. By leveraging the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, users are able to work together with all stakeholders in a single-source environment with higher automation & remote control and to finally achieve the sustainable supply, sustainable production and sustainable governance. What’s more, he illustrated the GEOVIA’s vision that the system engineering model of the Sustainable Planet is supported by four pillars - Water Stewardship, Energy & Emissions, Social Value and Future-proofing. Underneath these four pillars, GEOVIA team has identified sub-systems and their relations to ensure a holistic, interoperable and transparent solution, like sustainable land management, waste management and integrated closure planning etc.

Afterwards, Dr. Liang presented with a topic of “Digital Transformation, Where Mining and Technology Converge” and introduced more technological trends regarding virtual twin, including mine operation management, machine learning applications, strategic mine planning process and so on, to accelerate the digital transformation and sustainable development of mining industry.

GEOVIA Team Internal Meeting

On July 14th, an internal meeting was set up in the summit hotel to discuss about the local challenges and requirements related to GEOVIA brand and 3DEXPERIENCE platform. At the same time, local partners joined the discussion. With the strong confidence in China market, the action items have been listed in order to tackle multiple challenges, optimize the local business and reach the value-up target.
