Change management on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform offers a powerful tool to track & audit the actions of change processes. In the context of a design or engineering change, the user has generally been expected to “propose” what should be changed. For released components, this would allow the Change Action (CA) to automatically revise these Proposed Changes and log them under the Realized Changes.

In many cases, this would mean the initiator of the CA would have to know all the explicit changes their department would be making to the design. This is not always practical as there maybe related changes that must be dealt with to fulfill the overall intent. To address this, Change Management has the ability to “work under” a CA. 

This frees up the Change Order (CO) or CA initiator from defining all specific changes that must be made to reach the overall intent of the change. Let’s take a look at an example of this process in action for a number of different design changes to an assembly…
