What's new in 2024xFD02 - Define and experiment with scenarios

Define and experiment with scenarios

User can define multiple what-if scenarios to identify an optimal Discrete Event Simulation (DES) model prior to setting up a model in the 3D space.

User can compare the already implemented data charts (utilization rates, bottlenecks, inter-arrival times, etc.) to identify the optimal model in order to meet rate.

Through this functions, Factory Flow simulation app is providing the capability to run and validate various scenarios for Factory application data.

A new command “Define Factory Flow Scenario” is provided in “Analysis and output” to create scenario inside Simulation object.

On clicking this command, it creates the Simulation object in new tab in Factory Flow simulation application.

Manage Scenario:

This command allows user to manage scenarios, parameters and generate and visualize the results after simulating the scenarios.

The Panel is made of three sections inputs, outputs and Analysis.

User can add and remove scenarios using following options:

On plus button a new scenario is added and made current scenario.

The delete button allows user to select multiple scenarios and delete them.

User can use “attribute filter”    to configure the available attributes to be modified for each entity type:

Export/import through XML file:

Using these two options, user can export and import the values in form XML file.

User can import the values of the input/output parameters and the available input/output attributes for entities:

User can define scenario parameters    to be used for simulation:

User can define Simulation time, Warmup time and number of runs. During simulation these parameters will be used.

Using option “Generate Result for current scenario”   , user can simulate the current scenario and generate result. For each scenario there is a result and same can be browsed.

Using option “Simulate selected scenarios” user can simulate the selected scenarios and generate results.

User can right click on a scenario column and set it as active scenario (current scenario).

Outputs:

User can configure the output parameters for the entities to be captured after the simulation of scenarios.

User can enable the output attributes from either attribute filter or import functionality.

Analysis:

In this section user can browse the result for each simulation with the number of run options also.

HTML report is displayed based on following combination

  • Scenario Combo: User can select required scenario
  • Run Number Combo: User can select required Run

Based on above two selections, related Global HTML results are shown.

User can export these simulation results from this section, which will contain the detailed simulation output.

Export option will be provided to support both HTML and XML and location where it needs to be exported.

To view resource specific HTML :

User needs to select “View Resource Specific HTML” command, On Selection, current panel is minimized and user can select required resource, where following window will be displayed:

User can select multiple resources also, so that he can compare results across resources.

Export button functionality is same as above.
