New tools available for ControlBuild mapping

Let's continue this series of posts about what's new with the r2026xGA release.

A major improvement is multiple smart tools to facilitate the I/O mapping between the 3DEXPERIENCE  virtual twin and CATIA ControlBuild dedicated to control the 3D devices. Some users manage hundreds input and output signals, with different names and characteristics. While the benefit of virtual commissioning for significantly accelerating production start-up is undeniable, this mapping can be complex and tedious.

That's why we've equipped this tool with for example a filtering function on name or on I/O characteristics and above all, a high-performance automatic mapping command, which you will discover in the video.

The FMU connector between CATIA ControlBuild and the 3DEXPERIENCE virtual twin is no longer necessary, which represents a major step forward in optimizing user time and allowing them to focus on higher value-added tasks.

Here is a short video showing the new mapping tools in action:

This enhancement is available on the Virtual commissioning apps part of these roles:

  • Robot Virtual Commissioning (RVN)
  • VIRTUAL COMMISSIONING ANALYST (VCA)
  • Assembly Riveting System Programmer (RARSA)
  • Body-In-White Robot Programmer (RBWPR)
  • Fabrication Robot Workcell Programmer for Industrial Equipment (RARWI)
