We just launched in r2023 FD02 a new role named Shop Floor Equipment Engineer (EQE).
It is available on cloud only and will be on premise from r2024xGA.
A bit of history : The post title specify that this is a re-born because this role existed in previous packaging. From r2021x it has been packaged in ETR or EMR with "Design for manufacturing from CATIA) but not useful for company who are working with another CAD systems as SOLIDWORKS for instance, reason why we launched it again standalone.
Value :
Define and validate the mechanical behavior of shop floor equipment in
a virtual 3D environment by designating and testing operational kinematic models of shop floor machines.
Highlights :
Equipment models can be re-used by downstream applications for plant layout, resource simulation and machine programming
- Create all mechanical devices in a manufacturing setting
- Simple clamps
- NC machines (milling, turning, mill-turn)
- Tools
- Conveyors
- Complex robots to enable machine programmers to simulate and validate programs in the machine context.
I let you see this short video which illustrate some machine creation use-case.
