Multi-pass or multi-layer welding is used for many applications such as the fabrication of heavy structures mainly found in the industrial equipment or marine and offshore industries.

The advantage of multi-layer welding is that it can weld large thick-walled structure. Compared with single-layer welding in the same situation, it can also reduce heat input, reduce deformation and reduce the probability of defects.

Our 3DEXPERIENCE Robotics software allows you to simulate and program this multi-pass with the WTS (Weld Template System) functionality using a simple script fully that is customizable according your welding quality expectations.

This function is available in all Robotics roles dedicated to arc welding, including RBS (Robot Programmer) dedicated to SolidWorks users.
