With the new Robotic Role: Robot Programmer (RBS), it is really important to be aware of the continuity between SOLIDWORKS and DELMIA, that will able you to use CAD data created in SOLIDWORKS in a Robotic Simulation context.
We have several solution to use SOLIDWORKS data in 3DEXPERIENCE, explained in this post by @TK
there are two ways to work with Solidworks : PowerBy or Connected.
- PowerBy is a connector to be used with SOLIDWORKS Desktop, the connector in included in the role "Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS" (UES),
- SOLIDWORKS connected is included in a specific role named "3DExperience SolidWorks Premium" (XWC)
Note that it is not possible to use both solution, you will need to choose one. So be sure to choose the one that fits your need.
In this presentation, I explore some use cases you may face while using one of the two SOLIDWORKS+DELMIA solution:
- Setup the Connection (with XWC or UES)
- Save SOLIDWORKS data to 3DEXPERIENCE
- Create a Kinematics on DELMIA from SOLIDWORKS data
- Exchange 3dxml that includes SOLIDWORKS objects.
