Energy Consumption Computation

From r2022x FD04,  a new functionality determines the energy consumed by a robot or by any mechanism for performing a given task. Users can make changes to their robot tasks and analyze how their changes impact the energy usage of the robot.

Highlights

  • The function provides a new command ‘Dynamics Attributes’ to enter values for the dynamic attributes of the robot/robot links. These parameters as mass, inertia and center of gravity parameters can also be calculated automatically.
  • Data Readout panel will display the instantaneous and cumulative energies consumed by a robot as well by each of the robot joints during a simulation.
  • The data readout probe will also support logging, graphing and export the energy consumption computation results.
  • This command is available for all robotics and simulation roles.
