For the recent JEC event (international fair on Composite) , our intern @TV has created a nice video to illustrate the impressive capabilities of CATIA and DELMIA in the domain of Composite, for both Engineering and Manufacturing. This is a perfect example of Digital Continuity, where we use in DELMIA critical information defined in CATIA, such as the plies (cut pieces), to create the related process plan, the Work Instructions in case of manual layup, the machines/robots programs in case of ATL/AFP.
With DELMIA AMD (Material Deposition Machine Program) we can simulate and program the FGF process (Fused Granulate Fabrication), a new technology to "3D print" a composite part with a machine or robot. We can use DELMIA NTX (NC Milling Machine Programmer) for the finishing of the mold.
For the AFP and ATL robots, our partners Coriolis and Mtorres provide dedicated solutions (CATFiber, TorFiber) on top of DELMIA 3DExperience. For the Non-Destructive Testing robot, we can use DELMIA RSG (Surface Robot Programmer). For the contouring robot we can use DELMIA NTX.
And finally to define the complete plant layout with all the stations/devices, we can use DELMIA Plan Layout Designer (PLA) and DELMIA EFS (Factory Simulation Engineer) for the Flow Simulation of our Digital Twin.
PS: for more details, you can attend to the webinar that we give on this topic on 30 June 2022. June, 30 - Composites Manufacturing with CATIA and DELMIA
A big thank to @TV who has created this impressive video, and to all the colleagues who have contributed: @JS , @OC , @ON , @ON , @SR ...
