Tool Selection Assistant:

The Tool Selection Assistant product enables users to select tools, such as weld guns, while verifying that the tool selected will work for the specific process.  In evaluating the feasibility of using a specific tool, the Tool Selection Assistant searches a weld gun catalog, analyzes the fasteners and parts to report on the incidence of clashes.

Auto Gun Search:

The major advantage of the Auto Gun Search computation is to identify the correct tooling required for the welding in the early statge of the design & manufacturing. In case any modifications required either in the product design or the tooling design, this can be detected and done in the begining stage of the product life cycle. Consider a case where a product design engineer wants to check for the manufacturability of it's product desing. He wants to check for the existing tooling which could be used for the welding. Auto Gun Search function can be very useful in this case. Based on the tooling analysis, he can either change the product desing or can request for a change in the tooling.

While performing of the Auto Gun Search computation, the analysis will not stop instantaneously using "Stop" button in the dialog. The computation is performed in the background while keeping the dialog alive. Due to this reason the computation cannot be stopped instantaneously. Moreover, dialog infrastructure is used to communicate the results of the analysis. So, there is delay between the time stop of analysis is requested to the actual time it is processed.
