Usecase of Implicit filtering | Process Plan Definition

I have outlined the customer use case here and explained how the implicit filter helps resolve their problem while defining the process plan.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Problem Definition Steps:

Step-1: 150 %  MBOM is gets ready for further process planning activity
In the slide, the process planner begins with the 150% MBOM, as shown in box 1. This serves as the reference for the initial creation of the process plan (BOP).

Step-2: Process Plan activity for first variant (long frame variant)
To simplify the workflow, the planner filters the 150% MBOM down to the 100% MBOM for the long frame variant (box 2). The planner then starts defining activities for this variant.

Step- 3: Process Plan activity for second variant(short frame variant)
Once all components of the 100% MBOM for the long frame variant are consumed, the planner proceeds to create the process plan for the short frame variant. For this, the MBOM is filtered again to include only the short frame variant, as shown in box 3.

Variant Complexities:
Now, suppose there are 100+ operations created for the long frame variant. How does the planner identify which operations to focus on for creating process activities for the short frame variant?

Solution Definition :
If user is able to separate common activity from process plan, then by referring these common activity user can build process plan for other variant(in our case short frame variant)
Implicit filtering concept help here to differentiate common activity from variant

Concept of Implicit filtering
Implicit filter option filter the process plan with product flow. When user filter the configured MBOM structure, automatically linked operations gets filter-out. In this case there is no need to define effectivity and configuration at process planning side.

By using this approach, the process planner can more easily define process activities for other variants, effectively minimizing the complexity associated with managing multiple variants.
