Tips & Tricks: Part Position capability

In many industrial use-case, the product has some parts or assemblies that can be moved, opened or closed during the assembly process.

A famous example is the one from Automotive Final Assembly with the doors, hood and trunk which can be opened or closed all along the Final Assembly process.

Since R2015x, we are able to set a different position from the design, of a Part or Assembly at a given operation. This position will then be maintained until it is reset at another given operation of the process sequence.

What is really interesting is that you can specify on position of a global assembly or set of parts which are even not yet assembled and whenever they will be consumed by an operation of the sequence, they will be displayed according the predefined position.

Eg. You can preset the "open" position of the trunk with all trim parts at the first operation at which you will be opening the hood. Then any of these trim parts that will be mounted later on in the assembly sequence will be displayed in terms of product build-up directly in correct position.
