Process Engineering, or Industrial Engineering in general plays an important role in the enterprise wide end to end business processes. Process Engineering connects the Design/Engineering/R&D world, typically represented by a PLM platform with the production operations world, typically represented (in the first place) by an ERP platform.

Not surprisingly, the interoperability between the two worlds can be crucial for the efficacy of the end to end processes and can even become a competitive differentiator. While the integration in the past was often very unidirectional, the concept of a virtual twin involves feedback loops from operations to engineering for many reasons.

While the typical way to discuss a manufacturing company's needs around enterprise integration is an important subject of a value engagement, I would like to also use this community to ask the members for their stories related to process engineering and downstream integration with ERP.
