Context :
This post describes an approach through the fasteners to do a smooth migration from Catia V5 to Catia V6 and to Delmia V6
- It could be a progressive migration way from V5 to V6 with the part design still in V5 and the fastener design in Catia V6 before lately a full migration on V6.
- Enovia provides mechanism which could be help to manage at last this huge complexity of the fastener managment due to the multiplication of aspect like variant, life cycle, multi line, multi model with less and less time available but with more and more quality expected.
- Possibility to take quickly benefits with major improvements for the fastener design in Catia V6.
- The very strong integration between the design in Catia V6 and the manufacturing in Delmia V6 permit to manage the change easily. Delmia becomes the logic continuity of the design in a manufacturing context including planning and robotic.
The change management : An important topic in the Transportation & Mobility industry and especially on the domain of the body in white :
Imagine for a simple car with only one version : 500 parts with around of 4000 fasteners. In average 15 versions of each parts with obviously a direct impact on the fasteners !! Calculate the complexity of this change management if you complexify a bit more with 6 or 7 versions produced in different countries with different process and shares with several suppliers !!!
