The first-ever--a combined Digital Manufacturing and Manufacturing Operations Management event--the DELMIA Community Summit, was held. Based on the feedback received, it was a huge success!
DELMIA customers had the opportunity to discover, learn, and network at the recent DELMIA Community Summit held in Troy, Michigan July 28-30. The event included leading manufacturers from around the world to learn what’s new. Participants had the opportunity to share knowledge and gain insight into a wide-range of DELMIA implementations. Attendees were able to learn more about DELMIA Apriso and DELMIA’s Digital manufacturing products while extending their business network. Day 1 of the summit kicked off with a welcome speech by Tom Hennessey, Brand Marketing VP, DELMIA, followed by a DELMIA update by DELMIA CEO Philippe Charles. Philippe relayed how DELMIA supports the innovation process that helps customers themselves innovate. He also cited the Internet of Things and how it is predicted that more than 100 billion devices could be connected to IoT by 2020. True to the summit form, when it came to customer success stories, presenters did not disappoint.
Cummins Inc. and Areva shared their successes with DELMIA Apriso and Bell Helicopter regaled their DELMIA Digital Manufacturing successes. The day wrapped up with a Customer Appreciation Night where innovation took root--at the historic Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Attendees were able to see historical exhibits such as presidential limousines, gothic steam engines, and innovative products and inventions that were American made. The crowd enthusiasm held strong on day 2 of the DELMIA Community Summit. Lockheed Martin Space Systems shared its implementations, innovations, and successes using DELMIA digital manufacturing solutions. Eric Green, Brand Marketing VP, DELMIA, had an interactive conversation with the crowd on Industry Trends and User Experiences. Patrick Michel, DEMIA VP, User Experience & Marketing discussed the cutting-edge 3D printing, citing recent examples of customers deploying this popular innovation. Attendees looking for a DELMIA Product Roadmap needed to look no further than to DELMIA’s own John Fishell, R&D Applications Senior Director and Jud Plapp, R&D Supply Chain Planning Operations Director, who enlighten attendees on this topic. Nathan Yoffa, Portfolio Solution Architect, DELMIA gave a 3DEXPERIENCE Platform introduction and overview.
Break-out sessions were abundant as the last day of the summit concluded. Customers and other attendees had the opportunity to attend any number of interactive presentations on topics that included Aerospace & Defense, Industrial Equipment, Transportation and Mobility, Machining, Operations Intelligence, Process Planning, Robotics, and DELMIA Apriso.
The DELMIA Community Summit was deemed “The Ultimate Manufacturing Experience.” And it was.
